Things to do

New Braunfels Brewing Company

Small Brewery right across from Macadoos. Its mostly sour beers, and a small building, but it’s a neat place to pop in before you go eat somewhere or head to the other bars

The Faust

old school hotel with restaurant and in-house brewed beer. Down the street from the hotel there is a brewery tasting room that has limited hours

Moonshine & Ale

If you are out late, consider ending here. It’s a traditional Piano cover song bar. It is loud, fun, and always has a good crowd

Speakeasy style cocktail lounge under Prince Solms Inn/ next to Muck N Fuss.

right next door to downtown social, it’s a primarily outdoor bar with live music and 2 bars and live music. This place is a must if you have never been and want to have some drinks outside. They often have a food trailer, but you can pop in to downtown social if you are hungry

Don’t worry, in NB you can still wear shorts and dress casual at even the fanciest places

In the mornings and early afternoon this place is more of a traditional diner with good food, and at night they transform to a more adventurous rotating menu with great cocktails

Huisache Grill

This place is one of our go-to staples. Moderately priced for high quality food. They have a great courtyard area so you can grab some beer or a bottle of wine while you wait on your table. Huisache is beer and wine only but with a great selection. Try the mixed grill if you are a hungry carnivore!

Myron’s Steakhouse

Next door to Macadoos, and a very well-known steak house. Myrons has won awards over many steak houses that encompass the entire San Antonio area so if you want to get out and have a nice steak dinner or lobster you won’t be disappointed!

Very nice cajun style seafood joint/ oyster bar in one of the coolest buildings in town that used to be the post office. They have great brunch on the weekends that includes a build your own Bloody Mary bar.

7 Monks Cafe

Indian and mediterranean food that is super awesome and authentic

Union Street Station

breakfast and lunch diner right around the corner

Pat’s Place

long time staple for traditional burger and fry joint

Spud Ranch

Great option for pick up to bring back to the condo- tons of options for huge loaded baked potatoes (brisket, quesadilla, chicken fried steak, etc.), and they have awesome burgers on Texas toast!

Tin Top Burgers/ Rhea’s Ice Cream

great burgers and beer selection with a small outdoor seating area and playscape for the little ones, and local ice cream shop, Rheas, shares the building for something sweet after dinner

local lunch spot with sandwiches and soups. Simple and very good

2 Tarts bakery

Featured on the food network, this bakery has simple breakfast items like kolaches and empanadas, and amazing baked goods like cupcakes, cookies, tortes, and great coffee. They stay open late so it’s a great option for a late-night snack after dinner or bar hopping.

Downtown Social

Menu has everything from pizza to salads, Multiple TVs, ping pong tables, shuffleboard, pool, a few bowling lanes. Great place to hang out and get some air conditioning after a long day at the river or the pool. It does become 21 and up at some point at night but kids can have plenty of fun before that

Score’s Sports Bar

Burgers, Sandwiches, very quality bar food. Pool tables and many TVs.

Phoenix Saloon

Scriven’s favorite burger in town, and chili that has been featured on the food network. Phoenix is primarily indoors and does play live music at night and turns to a bar. If you are taking kids, go earlier in the afternoon. If you are kid free it’s a great place to start the evening with a burger and a beer with live music, and you’ll be in the middle of downtown

Muck N Fuss

Burgers, tacos, great draft beer menu, indoor and outdoor seating

A traditional German biergarten. Plenty of seating with 2 large patio areas, very kid friendly, good food with German and traditional American options with a great beer menu. If you are in town on a Saturday, this is our go-to brunch spot because the parking lot also hosts the amazing New Braunfels Farmers market from 9-1. There is typically live music on the second outdoor patio. Our favorite food booth there is Christelle’s Culinary Corner , serving authentic Haitian and Asian Fusions.

Gruene is a quick 5 min drive from the condo

Tavern in the Gruene

popular local spot. Large dive bar with a back patio and music

Gruene Tini’s

Martini bar across from Gruene door. Great place to go get a drink before dinner if you are going to eat at Gruene door

Villa at Gruene

New nice building overlooking a small vineyard with local wine and beer

Gruene Grove

Really cool outdoor beer garden with live music. Great place to hang out while you wait for a table at the Gruene door or watch some good music and have some drinks

Beer and wine, primarily outdoor with great atmosphere and typically live music

Inferno’s Wood Fired Pizza

Great pizza place! Nothing more needs to be said.

Adobe Verde

Good ole’ tex mex place with kid play place

River House

Very high-quality American food. Small menu but always good!

Gruene Door

The most “upscale” dining in Gruene with delicious lunch and dinner options. They do weekend brunch sometimes as well

Naturally Café

if you want something healthy while you are in town for breakfast/ lunch or you just love good quality food look no further. Sandwiches, salads, soups, and the best quiche in town.

Gruene River Grill

Gruene Hall

Oldest dancehall in TX! Tons of history and tons of fun! Even great live music during the day, but at night you’ll likely need to have bought tickets in advance or wait in line. Beer and Wine/ CASH ONLY
