Canyon Lake Parks:

Overlook Park

Publicly accessible day-use area, offers breathtaking vistas of the south side of Canyon Lake. Embark on a journey along the park’s 1-mile loop hiking trail or leisurely traverse the Verada Real walking trail, extending across the dam. Don’t forget to keep your phone handy for capturing the awe-inspiring views, as the park’s name suggests—there are picturesque overlook points that beckon for a snapshot.

For those seeking a refreshing dip, Overlook Park’s trails lead down to the lake, providing access to various unofficial swimming spots where visitors can spend the day cooling off. It’s important to note that, while enjoying the natural beauty, the park lacks designated picnic areas, so if you plan to bring food, consider alternative arrangements for a comfortable lakeside experience.

Canyon Park

The most extensive park along the shores of Canyon Lake, provides numerous opportunities for enjoying a splendid day. Inside the park, you’ll discover three distinct trail loops, complemented by picnic tables, grills, and unofficial swimming spots. The scenic views from the park are truly impressive.

Within the park, serene and shallow coves offer an ideal setting for a refreshing dip in the crystal-clear waters of Canyon Lake. While many picnic tables lack significant shade, there are areas adorned with trees that offer a welcome reprieve from the sun, enhancing your overall experience at Canyon Park.

Comal Park

Open: Seasonally from March through October

Nestled on the shores of Canyon Lake, Comal Park spans 116 acres, offering a delightful day-use experience.
